Weekly Recap 7-2-12 to 7-8-12

The mid week holiday really threw me for a loop this week.  My schedule got all out of whack and I ate a lot of bad food and drank a lot of alcohol.  I went out Tuesday night with a group from work to get silly drunk and sing karaoke.  I followed this up with dinner, beer and a baseball game with fireworks on Wednesday night.  Needless to say on Thursday I did not feel good at all.  I nearly tried to go to the gym Thursday, but knowing I was sick and dehydrated that just seemed stupid.  So I ended up with 2 unintentional rest days.  Was it fun? Oh heck yeah.

Starting weight – 257.8
Monday – Spinning – 50 minutes
Tuesday – Run – 3 miles
Wednesday – REST
Thursday – REST
Friday – Weight Lifting – 20 minutes
Saturday – Run – 10K
Sunday – Yoga – 60 minutes
Total Mileage – 9.2 miles
Ending weight – 259.4 (1.6 pounds gained)

Well…. I’m not surprised to see a gain.  Wish it wasn’t as big as that, but oh well.  Nothing to do now but work it back off.  I did manage to finish my 10K run this week which was good.  Not my fastest 10K, but not my slowest either.  It wasn’t a true race, so I let myself walk up the steep hills and didn’t try to kill myself.

    I am a recent graduate in Food Science (NC State, 2009) and I work for a major food manufacturing company. I love food, but I can no longer eat anything that crosses my path. About 24 months ago I begin a serious struggle to get my obesity under control and reduce my chances of developing Type II diabetes. Since September of '09 I have lost 50 pounds and I still have a long ways to go. I've started eating better and exercising more, including taking up running.
