Team GoSmart Update

I just got a phone call from Active Ambassadors about the Team GoSmart ambassadorship that I applied to.  I was chosen as a finalist! She talked to me on the phone for a while and asked me some questions.  I’m not sure how many people they are talking to, but they had to have narrowed it down from the 600 who applied.  They are only looking for 16 people, so I don’t know how much of a shot I’ve got, but she was impressed I already had started a blog, since blogging on the team website was one of the requirements.

I think one of the coolest parts of making the team will be that they send you a video camera, and over the course of the 12 week program you record and submit two video blogs.  I would imagine afterward you get to keep the camera.  The camera would be awesome for running in some of the cool races like the Disney Half, the Charleston Bridge Run and maybe some other ones with awesome scenery..

Fingers crossed, maybe I’ll make the team!

  • About Me

I am a recent graduate in Food Science (NC State, 2009) and I work for a major food manufacturing company. I love food, but I can no longer eat anything that crosses my path. About 24 months ago I begin a serious struggle to get my obesity under control and reduce my chances of developing Type II diabetes. Since September of '09 I have lost 50 pounds and I still have a long ways to go. I've started eating better and exercising more, including taking up running.
