Weigh to Win Challenge Final Update

This week was the final week of the Weigh 2 Win challenge through my work wellness program.  I started the program at 315 pounds and finished the challenge in 12 weeks at a weight of 285 pounds.  A loss of 30 pounds, on top of the 30 I had already lost from 345 to 315.  A total of 60 pounds since October of last year.

30 pounds in 12 weeks for an average of 2.5 pounds per week.  At this rate it will take me another 26 weeks to lose another 60 pounds to reach my goal of 220 pounds. Or about 6 months.  I doubt I can keep up that rate of weight loss but at least it gives me something to work towards.

  • About Me

I am a recent graduate in Food Science (NC State, 2009) and I work for a major food manufacturing company. I love food, but I can no longer eat anything that crosses my path. About 24 months ago I begin a serious struggle to get my obesity under control and reduce my chances of developing Type II diabetes. Since September of '09 I have lost 50 pounds and I still have a long ways to go. I've started eating better and exercising more, including taking up running.
